| Mass start blown away by wind - Linda Tjoerhom wins |
| Norwegian Linda Tjoerhom, shooting only two penalty loops, won the mass start of the women about 12.5 km on the finishing line. Tjoerhom was in lead by 30 centimeters of Russian Natalja Gusewa (3 penalties). The German athletes were blown away by heavy wind. Uschi Disl had to go through the penalty loop six times and finished on place seven. Andrea got out of it respectably and became 19th placed, being the third best German. |

| Natalia Gusewa celebrates victory in Antholz |
| Russian Natalia Gusewa celebrated her first victory of her career in front of Czech Katerina Holubcova (14,6 seconds behind) and compatriot Swetlana Ischmuratowa (+23,3). With a faultless shooting Martina Glagow, being the best German athlete, finished on place four. Andrea had to fight against bad outside conditions, shot three penalties and finished on place 43. |

| Anna Bogali wins individual competition in Antholz |
| Russian Anna Bogali won the individual competition in Antholz in 43:42,8 minutes in front of compatriot Swetlana Ischmuratowa (0:54,1 minutes behind) and Slovakian Anna Murinova (1:36,5). Simone Denkinger, shooting two penalties, finished on place four with a delay of 1:42,2 minutes. Andrea shot three penalties and finished on place 29. With place 17 Norwegian Liv Grete Poiree defended the yellow bib. |

| Liv Grete Poiree dominates best result of the season for Andrea! |
| Liv Grete Poiree won the pursuit competition in Ruhpolding as well. Therefore, she extended her lead in the world cup total score. At her 17th world cup victory of her carreer and with a time of 33:18,7 minutes she referred Russian Swetlana Ischmuratowa (1:40,3 minutes behind) and Olga Pylewa (2:16,3) to the places. Martina Glagow became fourth placed. Andrea showed a strong performance at the shooting range and on the track again and finished on place five which is her best result of the season! |

| Liv Grete Poiree wins sprint strong comeback by Andrea |
| With a faultless shooting and the best running time world cup leader Liv Grete Poiree won the sprint competition in Ruhpolding. She referred Russian Swetlana Ischmuratowa (+35,7 seconds) and Martina Glagow (+56,1 seconds) to the places. After her illness Andrea finished on a great ninth place and celebrated a strong comeback by showing a faultless shooting and a good running performance. |

| Germany wins relay in Ruhpolding Biathlon WC 2005 postponed |
At the prelude of the biathlon world cup in Ruhpolding the German relay team reached it’s first victory about 4x6km. In 1:18:37,0 hours Simone Denkinger from Gosheim, Uschi Disl from Moosham, Katrin Apel from Frankenhain and Kati Wilhelm from Zella-Mehlis - the representative team of the German Ski Federation (DSV) - referred World Champion Russia to the places being in lead by 71 seconds. In front of 12.000 spectators the quartet from Norway finished on place three with a leeway of 1:38,8 minutes. [...]
The Biathlon-World-Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen have been postponed from the beginning of February to the 4th to 13th March. The board of the International Biathlon-Union (IBU) made this decision in Ruhpolding. Therefore, an overlap with the Alpine Ski-WC will be avoided. [...] |

| News of Pokljuka |
Uschi Disl, only missing one of the 20 targets, won the pursuit competition about 10 km on Friday. At her first seasonal victory she was in lead by 50,7 seconds in front of Sandrine Bailly. Olga Pylewa from Russia finished on place three with the same time as the French athlete. Katrin Apel finished on place 5. On Sunday the 24-years old Anna Bogali of Russia celebrated her first world cup victory in front of Liv Grete Poiree (Norway), who got the yellow bib for being the leader of the overall world cup after her second place. Uschi Disl reached the winners rostrum with place three again.

| Liv Grete Poiree won the first competition of the New Year today. With a narrow leeway Uschi Disl finished the sprint in Pokljuka second placed. Finishing on place three Sandrine Bailly defended the yellow bib. As already mentioned, Andrea will not be able to start in Pokljuka because of illness. [...] |

| Andrea is back! :-) With a fantastic shooting (0 mistakes!) and running performance Andrea secured herself the qualification for the World Championships while finishing on place six. | With one penalty loop and place 14 Andrea reached her best result of the season today. Therefore, she will start in the pursuit competition promising! Martina Glagow won the yellow bib finishing on place three. Despite of a penalty loop Sandrine Bailly won her third competition of the season being in lead of more than half a minute. |

| Martina Glagow secured the first victory of the season for the German team today. The basis was a faultless shooting and a good running performance. With 43:07,0 minutes the world cup title-holder from Mittenwald distanced Norwegian Liv Grete Poiree (9,3 seconds back) and Olympic Champion Olga Pylewa (17,7 seconds back) from Russia. For Glagow this has been the first triumph in a 15-km individual competition and the altogether fifth victory in the world cup. With three penalty minutes Andrea finished on place 39. |

Sandrine Bailly won the final pursuit competition in Hochfilzen. The French athlete won in front of Martina Glagow and Olga Zaitseva from Russia. At pretty complicated outward conditions at the shooting range as well as on the track Andrea fought herself up from starting range 43 to place 26! The last snapshots from Austria are online now as well. |

| Zubrilova secures relay victory of Belarus in front of Germany |
| A strong Olena Zubrilova snatched the relay victory away from final runner Kati Wilhelm in an exciting finishing spurt. The German team with Martina Glagow, Katrin Apel, Katja Beer and Kati Wilhelm finished on place two after two penalties. Meanwhile you can find some more pictures online. |

| Olena Zubrilova wins sprint in Hochfilzen |
Faultless shooting Olena Zubrilova won today’s sprint competition in Hochfilzen. Places two and three went to the Norwegians Gro Marit Kristiansen and Liv Grete Poiree. Martina Glagow finished on a famous place four. The athletes with higher starting numbers were not able to intervene the rostrum places because of the bad weather conditions. Therefore, Andrea finished on place 43 after shooting two penalties. The first photos are online. |

| Within the first relay competition of the new season the German relay team with Simone Denkinger, Uschi Disl, Katrin Apel and Kati Wilhelm only finished on place five. With altogether six penalty loops a better place became impossible despite of a great running performance. Liv Grete Poiree, who had the fastest individual time of the day, made perfect the first victory for the Norwegians for more than three years. […] |

| World Cup prelude in Kontiolahti |
| This morning the world cup prelude of the biathlon season took place in Kontiolahti. World Champion Sandrine Bailly won the sprint of the women in front of Liv Grete Poiree and Uschi Disl. Andrea, who was handicapped by a high start number, had to go through the penalty loop two times and finished on place 35. Therefore, she will participate in the pursuit competition on Sunday as well. |

| World cup will take place in Hochfilzen |
| Despite of non-appearance of snow the second biathlon world cup of the season (11th - 14th December in Hochfilzen) will take place as planned in the 1000m high Tyroler community. To prepare the track orderly the organizers are taking 5000 cubic meters snow with about 400 truckloads from the Grossglockner. “If everything works as planned, we will even be able to prepare the 3.3 km loop.
